well, not that extreme...but i generally prefer to risk only very little capital in puts. i'm going to accumulate various strikes of the OEX/SPX/NDX August puts over the next few days as the turn date is approached. puts are being given away right now with the VIX barely over 22. the complacency in the market is truly baffling, but it spells opportunity. the only people NOT ignoring the continuing sharp deterioration in the macro-economic picture are corporate insiders who continue to dump their stocks in droves...
