You're saying we should be able to anticipate outside influences?

I agree a news item can move the market and a lot of influences (interest rate cut, lower oil prices, and court ruling have all aligned today), but you can't put yourself in front of the trend.

I was day trading Nortel a while back and Chambers dropped his 'challenging' statement at some meeting in Europe. 3 points in sixty seconds. How you going to predict that?

Today's action is also glossing over the structural problems. NT, TSX and EXDS aren't exactly leaping back. We'll see what happens when the Chapter 11's start to pick up. It ain't over yet.
