Agreed!

OTOH raising prices is not a bad move altogether. The value proposition of Amazon should never have been "we got the cheapest books around", but "we have the largest catalogue on earth with user and editorial reviews and our prices are competitive". In fact I predicted about four months ago back that they would raise their prices.


I agree again. A good retailer would have seen this some time ago. The tremendous losses incurred so far is due more to poor management then any other reason.
