Yaacov,
Re <<We have nothing in common apart from civility ... So why share a country? >>
I live in San Diego (La Jolla to be exact), Southern California. I don't really know you, but I have no problem being you neighbor. My neighbors consist of many religions, cultures and ethnicity. You and I have a lot in common. We both enjoy good food, good friends, making money and golf.
I do agree with you that Arabs and Jews are better off living separately, sad but true. I believe that Palestine should be an independent country and so should Israel.
Yaacov, in my post, I was not trying to offer a solution to this mess. I was just thinking aloud. Thinking how sad it is that our faith in a common god is not enough to keep us from killing each other. Thinking how "religious" leaders are killing in the name of religion. It is hard for me to accept that it just "human nature" to behave like this.
