SKEETER & ZEEV
All your points are well taken. What I'm trying to say
is that great changes are facing the American people in the not to distant future. Baby boomers will pressure the economic system (shrinking the amount of available capital to spend on "TOYS" - and this is where the inheritance factor comes in), less children are being born (fewer newbies to sell to), and as already pointed out economies of scale are shrinking to saturation (advancements will likely have little effect) All this tells me that the PC growth rate for US is over, most of the people that want or need a computer already have them (here) and yes there will be a computer industry(s).
But wonder if zeev is wrong??? Say all these developing nations economies fail or fail to materialize - then what.
Yea, cell phones are great to people that have no phone "SYSTEM", but a cell phone and computer are not really in the same ballpark IMHO.
To me all this paints a very bleak future for the PC industry in general,
which brings us around to MU - even bleaker….and yet inspite of all this
MU heads north - you figure it out???
