Nokia identified this trend several years ago, and has begun a very long range plan to transition more and more towards becoming a wireless services company to complement its industrial might. Check out Nokia Ventures, if you haven't been paying close attention. With more than $1 billion in annual revenues, Nokia Ventures is far and away the largest wireless services company. Then there is Club Nokia and other wireless content, services, security, etc. initiatives. Nokia's history is one of evolution with the times, and Nokia's evolution continues. Nokia's supremacy in the mobile phone market and secondary position to Ericsson in infrastructure will provide it with leverage into the wireless services arena that only Ericsson can (potentially?) match. It will be exciting to watch.
