Message 16011806 Lots of gun news/legislation. Ashcroft wants to limit the amount of time your NICS information is kept. A Clinton era proposal to reduce the time to 90 days from 180 is now in place. Ashcroft wants it to be 24 hours or so. K-Mart will no longer sell handgun ammo. They don't sell handguns so it has some logic, business-wise. CA Supreme Court ruled Assault Weapons are legal unless explicitly designated illegal under 1991 amendments to the 1989 Act. Now NRA will challenge AG discretion to add weapons to list. Million Mom March and Handgun Control to merge.
