ST**** NVLS vs AMAT ****

Both of these stocks are near their peaks for now. I sold part of my NVLS at 56, and plan to buy it back at the 52---53 range prior to earnings.

I'm surprised to see that no one commented on the fact that NVLS is trading to a $5.00 premium to AMAT. It has been suggested to the AMAT longs that a switch (of some AMAT shares) to some NVLS shares when these were at identical prices.

At the current time the outlook for NVLS is better than the current outlook for AMAT. NVLS will has decent earnings, while AMAT will have decent hopes. I'll take the earnings. KDAVY and I refer to these as paired trades.

I don't recall all the stocks he suggested (KDAVY). XLNX and ALTR were two.(Early Jan. postings by KDAVY, for those interested)

AD suggested some short positions at these levels, and I feel that time and history are on his side. Because of the channel we are in I would suggest a one month only short position. After all, why pay for the extra time premium on a long (time) short position, when these stock will move in a 15% channel about every 40 days?

But then again, if I knew what I was doing, I would do it somewhere else.

Regards, Jerome
