I gaurantee that if you know the mother you know the son. The wife of the son is the mother of his sons. The culture is very family oriented. Mothers have amazing dominant influence over their sons in this culture. The society has gone through an extreme revolution and so there are casualties and tragic stories, as always. To pull out Taleban men as being something different than a Taleban female, however, is rediculas.

Well, what bothers me is that we all have an outsiders view and are making judgements about it. Then the media goes to the estranged members of the society and pumps them for some media sensation. This is like asking a gold fish in a bowl about bears because there is a copy of jungle book in the bowl. Any credible sociologist would be cracking up at this. The only way to have a credible opinion on a culture is to be enough of a part of that culture to give a balanced representation of it. The estranged members (like the one's escaping to Pakistan) of course have there story but they obviously have a strong negative bias in reporting it. I have donated money to help the escapies in their struggle to survive this hardship. There stories are still, however, anecdotal at best and definitely with a negative bias.

I've talked to the pro-Taleban Muslims and to the con-Taleban Muslims. I can tell you that there are many more agendas being represented when a discussion pops up than anything else. Obviously, its not for me or I would go there and do that. But, my only opinion is about all the lookie lues who what to pass judgement. tsk tsk
