Well, I am guilty of wording that badly. "If Microsoft really cared about providing the solutions that its customers want and need" would probably be a better phrasing.

Win2k isnt as bad as NT, but then again admins finally got NT running smooth with SP6 and tweaked, and runs smooth (as it gets) on the *minimum* requirements for Win2k. More cost. MS and Intel power each other's upgrade train, which is fine. But I think people are waking up to the fact that it just is not necessary, and needlessly costly.

Linux is a decent OS, and improved by leaps and bounds just in the last 2 years. I've been using it since 95, and am VERY impressed by the improvements. It may well be the Unix market unifier, capable of running on everything from Big Iron to embedded.
