OnCue Communications, a Manchester-based group backed by US investor George Soros, blamed government regulators for failing to ensure fair access to BT's local telephone monopoly. "The battle for broadband Britain is over," said Mark Ballet, chief executive.

"BT have successfully kept out competitors. Regulation is finally moving in the right direction but it is still too slow and our investors have run out of patience."

Crossy- Exactly how the ILECs here in the USA have destroyed the CLECs. Apparently BT was successful in destroying OnCue. My guess is there are about 10,000 telecom rules in the UK that are near impossible to decipher and harder to enforce. -MikeM(From Florida)
