I never read the books, re: the trilogy by Cormac McCarthy, but I will have to pick up the first, and then on your advice maybe go to the third..
I was thinking this afternoon, about what I found tiresome, about CTHD, the endless freakin fight scenes, like I mentioned before, the endless freakin car chases or gun fights in our movies.. And then I thought, so much of ALL society, likes an "endless freakin fight scene" whether it is the "cold war" or fighting on the internet.And then because of the freakin boredom that sets in by this, being human, I miss the real message. Sort of like the intenet, the real message, what there is, is couched by the Bull Sheet fighting
I still bookmark the "fight clubs" on SI for entertainment only, but I have I let the thread pile of messages build up because of sheer boredom and then skim and find they are still fighting yesterday's war on the same old subject// ie.. you know what they are.. religion ,politics and the ramifications thereof... If you try something new, no response.. And so rather than wade through the crap fighting, I pass over it.. and probably miss the few kernals of truth, the posts might have possessed.. Just condense it down to the freakin quick.. for us "in a trough"..
On each of the issues, is a "sanctimoniouss" right (and left) , no pointing fingers here, a figure of speech) bolsterd by an over and SELF-inflated degree of importance, knowledge and overall worldliness... One side jabs, the other covers, then counter jabs, and so it goes.. hurling insults back and forth ad nauseum.....
Borinnnnnnnnng as they used to say.. with nothing accomplished on a medium like this. "An endless of summer" of insults.. Why not skirmish, each side declare themselves the winner, get the Hell over it and move on..
Why not "An endless Summer" ..Of surfing, hiking, climbing, wine-drinking and laughing with good friends while discussing these issues where it might accomplish something..??
