And as a footnote to my recent post,
I received a call from Beth early this morning, "from sweltering New York" as she put it, our neighbor, that wonderful woman, just back from East Africa.. She was visiting her parents for awhile, before flying home.. Just wondering how everything was..after hearing about the fires and stuff..
She was so pumped, from her experience, having just helped all those children, talking about the leader, a doctor so committed.. that he works nonstop.. And then she said, "we topped it off with a safari" Mike, you would have just loved it.. But it meant so much more, after we done our work, rather than just going over as a tourist.. So we are thinking about another trip for February, 2002.."
One guy helped build a water tower, his wife helped in the kitchen"" And we thought, I'm damn good with a hammer, a chain saw and a no.2 shovel. And Mary is damn good at organizing thing and sweet talking donations...
We will see... When Beth gets back home and we drink some wine and look at her pictures and see what the future plans are.
