Johannes,
I like the Korean stews up to a point. If you like the rubbery texture of octopus, the chewy pounded rice cakes that Koreans put in stews must thrill you.

I do drink wines, though I usually drink beer or sake with Sushi. I would drink the usual fish wines with sushi, Sancerre or Sauvignon Blanc. An American Sauvignon Blanc with a little sweetness might match well with the sweet and sour flavor of the sushi rice.
