I am a wilderness buff. I've hiked and climbed all over the Rockies, Smokies, Cascades. I've done 6 weeks survival in the Alaskan wilds with no food except what I could fish, kill or scavenge from plants and berries right where the Exxon Valdez spilled its load of poisons. Maybe that's a big reason I don't trust the oil lobby. They helped destroy one of the greatest places on earth. They lie and pollute and accidents always happen. When I go into the wilderness I don't leave any trace that I've been there and neither should anyone else. Those few places loeft are sacred. And the only thing that saddens me is the whole mountains which were clear-cut and will never ever grow back. Or the salmon runs poisoned by oil which will never ever come back. Or the dammed rivers that are only good for man's use now. Or the stream water you can't drink because it's poisoned by cyanide from mines. Think about it. Do we really need to exploit that for short-term gain? No.
