I agree with you on all points. I was posting only in response to Steven's apparent contention that the women of Afghanistan are like he believes women here are. That is, desiring of the feminist place in society and so victimized by the Taleban. No doubt there are IMO a very small contention of women still remaining in Afghanistan that would be so inclined. I speak to Muslims from various contries and representations and the consensus is that the vast majority of women in Afghanistan are as supportive or opposed to the Taleban movement as the men are. No Male religious authority would get away with such a wide sweeping change in lifestyle otherwise.
