MIKE, I saw an article, I believe it was 6-10-97, that a company called Cortec has received approval by the Japanese regulatory officials for H.pylori. They have a rapid whole blood test, but I don't think it was a one step test because the article says that test is still in testing trials. Article mentioned the high rate of stomach cancer and I think ulcers in Japan (highest in industrialized nations). Wonder why Qdel hasn't tapped this market yet? The article was found at labfocus.com in the news section.
