Thanks for the info PMW and Pete. I'll relay your messages to him. I think I need to clarify some of the info I have relayed. Yes, he has already formatted the disk and it won't let him install windows. Since it is hardware can you access the bios without a system even being present. He has tried removing the batteries to reset the bios settings to their default values but that didn't work. He has not yet tried resetting the jumpers. I'll try to get a more specific error message when I hear back from him. tc
