No idea, Hutch.....nice move, though, 85 cents....and 4.5 million traded, of course that's only 2.25 million pre-split. TD had a bit of volume as well. I can't see how the possible purchase of Oppenheimer would move the stock radically in either direction, imho the essential thing is that Wood Gundy wants a presence in the States. That seems universally considered a Good Idea, and is imho inevitable, whether they buy O. or not. Agreed, though, if they over-pay for a dud, they'll do poorly on the deal in the near term. I've heard elsewhere negative remarks about O. much like yours, but there are some attractive assets, two being the value of the name and the client list.

Actually, I don't watch CM much until it nears a buy or sell target and it's not close to either right now. What I did notice was that LB, of which I sold a fair bit at 27, put on another 2 bucks today. So it goes.....Maybe the "Qu‚bec discount" really is getting smaller, for a while, anyway...

It seems that opinion is not unanimous about the lack of a US Fed increase July 1-2, or so says Palmer of TD Securities......
