In other commodities:

-- Arabica coffee futures fell on the Coffee, Sugar & Cocoa Exchange after a late bout of speculative selling that encountered no buying support. The September contract lost 1.60 cents to 56.90 cents a pound. ``This is more due to a lack of buying than anything else,'' one broker in New York said.

-- Soybean futures added to Friday's gains at the Chicago Board of Trade, mostly due to short covering -- the buying of futures to balance previous sales -- by speculative funds. The November contract climbed 8.75 cents to $4.7275 a bushel.

``The markets are still reacting to Friday's Stocks/Seedings report, which indicated much lower-than-anticipated U.S. soybean acres,'' said Dan Basse, executive vice president of consulting firm Agresource & Co. in Chicago.
