Spoken like a true democrat Nadine. Although I am not a republican, if the right taxes are cut, it actually increases "revenue" to the federal government. This has been demonstrated several times both with the Kennedy and the Reagan tax cuts. The problem is the the federal gubment in their infinite wisdom sees this "revenue" as an opportunity to spend on their favorite pork barrel projects.

The return of deficits IS NOT a GIVEN! But as you say it may happen. 1.8 Trillion sure sounds like a lot of money, but if you look at it as only 180 billion a year all of a sudden it is not "real" money. Why we could spend that much on a few aircraft carriers and a few B-1 bombers, as well as health care for the masses.

Here in my home town, we are paying for our own roads with our money. We are not asking the federal government to do it for us. If there were more places like that, maybe we would not have to have the gubment do everything for us.

When ever anyone needs something, we always look for the government to take care of us. Maybe if we did things for ourselves, we would not have to have government deficits. What a thought.
