"Try telling that to O'Neill and your boy Bush."
"Bush has turned out to be... [liar] and has lost[credibility]..."
"Whatever happened to those campaign promises about a lower dollar?" Rarebird
Rarebird,
Please let me reference a post i place Jan 6, 2001.
To this day i still feel that prez bush remains ignorant and totally clueless, the same as he has all his life, to anything more detailed than when he wipes himself after taking a crap.
All his life he has been able to collect men of high ability to work for or under him, not because they wish to serve him or his policies, but only for the connection to his father.
To this i point to my past post and suggest that a collection of recent acts decisions talks etc made by Lawrence Lindsey will point to reflect near future policy decisions to be made that O'Neill will Rubber Stamp. O'Neill takes orders from his boss prez bush, and pres bush is but a puppet with large and strong and visual strings attached to him that goes to those people in his administration that hold all the most important job positions, with the exception of the State General Powell that is himself a quasi-puppet.
As i just mentioned prez bush's puppet strings are knowned to all, even himself, but he does not see them strings as puppet strings controlling him, but as good connections he has with powerful persons, and all his life he has made important decisions based on the work of those powerful persons he always has helping him, etc etc.
So i suggest to anyone, to collect from the start of this year to the current time, what does Lawrence Lindsey want or believe should happen in economies etc for usa & world.
That to me is what prez bush will order O'Neill to Rubber Stamp.

lorne, It may be an apples and oranges wild guess...
... the Treasury Secretary job to Mr. O'Neill rather than the rumored expected person of Mr. Lindsey may parallel the reason why past President Nixon keep Henry Kissinger away from the title of Secretary of State when in fact Kissinger was doing that task...
During that period Nixon understood... dealt with in[secret]
... where the USA Congree and Senate had no opportunity to meddle... making foreign policy in secret.
... Kissinger did not have that burden and was able to travel and talk "for" the usa prez nixon and conduct the business that nixon wanted the secretary[to do]... but in secret...
