I didn't notice that much similarity to Joyce. Both authors demand concentration, both play with language; but Peake writes to a point, and it at least comprehensible... Joyce is as pointless as the stories he fails to tell. IMHO <g>
(I gave up on Ulysses rapidly when I realised it was nonsense. I'm no fan of conceptual art, either - once the concept was reached once, the rest was vapid plagiarism).

Austen, OTOH, was not only a genius but used that to write worthwhile, readable, enjoyable novels...
