happy independence A19- had a great reunion with my sis. just sent her back east on the plane this am. it was great! did lots of deep talk, partying, sailing and spent the day in santa fe yesterday (lunch at pasqual's and margaritas on the rooftop of la posada) beautiful vistas, cool breezes, light, wet diamond sprinkles from a passing cloud - breath of fresh air. i thought of you when we were driving through the narrow streets of SF and charlotte (a local SF friend who joined us for lunch) saw a couple of female pedestrians dressed in long pants and dress shirts and hollered, "you can't dress like that here! go back to boston!" (not so's they could hear - just so we could have a native laugh inside the car). our driver, bob (my other sister's husband) is from boston and he got a kick out of that. hope your reunion is as fun. i have a 60 person surprise party planned for friday for kath's 50th. i never knew how handy a cell phone could be. saturday and sunday is the big independence day regatta and pot-luck - then it's off to elephant butte for a couple more days of sailing with some friends visiting from dallas. i'm going to need some serious "alone time" by this time next week. :-) -polvo the crowd builder
