Gosh X, that breaks my heart but I think you're right. What is it about human beings which pulls many of us to masking tape the world into wrong v. right, us v. them, etc. Surely the world that most white Americans live in is not that frightening or threatening to negotiate so that they're prohibited from behaving compassionately on a day-to-day basis.
