I don't recall that. It may be the buyer pays the chip royalty. Remember, there has always been a trade off between the chips and the product royalty; if you buy qcom chips the total royalty is, in the aggregate, less than if you buy chips from the other fabs. Presumably, that will no longer be true with spinco.
