My thoughts move along that same track. I am believing that NOK may know their GPRS will be unsatisfactory, UMTS is very late, the NextWave thing may have broken the camel's back, and now NOK needs to move immediately in order to secure whatever beach head they have for selling equipment, *any* flavor, to "their" customers. As for NOK deployment of base stations being imminent, that is a far far cry from UMTS being imminent....that was a slick statement Merill put together for release.

I cannot believe this capitulation by NOK is a stand-alone item.
