Terry,
Lets make a USA Government Congress & Senate Power Index.
This might supply an "why" type answer to your comments, as follows.
"... government [spends] all they took in and then some." "... government really [doing] the will of the people...?"
make a list of congress men & women same for the senate list the names with the most "powerful" at the top powerful being those cited by mainstream media as those who control the wheels of the government now list all the different "chair(s)" those who control meetings for committees of which i'm very clueless on but if someone could locate an url in some .gov web page that lists the structure of congress and senate then that will be it and now itemize how much money each committee or sub-committee spends i bet that the most powerful poitician(s) match up with the places that spend the most money as Hutch does have a point rather than place your money into a bank savings account you may speculate it as in a gamble, without the bank's FDIC as an investment into the markets markets being shares in a company those longone Richard's pork belly buttons or minerals like copper, tin, lead, silver, gold, etc or include with your investment method foreign stuff like values, beliefs in God, environment, Green Peace or save the whales, frogs, trees, etc or you may view money as a source of power as in, the more you have, the more power you have or you may view money as a location of power as in, if you control its allocation, you have power where in usa government to spend tax'ed money who decides how it spend, the where and how much bottom line someone receives this money and this type of power is sick & evil unless accountability Rules which to an extreme, it does not or scientist want one unifying equation to explain all things in the physical sciences or free market folks want [evil] manipulations to never happen for example, a gold standard, anti-trust laws, etc or accountability Rules or money is not good or bad it is only a tool to help people exchange goods and services like a fork to exchange food on a plate with an empty hungry mouth is really a bad and dumb example sorry money to obtain it is to obtain a tool if a teenage highscool kids says "mow your lawn for $5." you could reply yes, but first tell me your opinion of the environment or are you religious, think its wrong to cut grass, etc or what are you gonna do with the money or are you hoping for rain so you get more grass to cut and if so to the rain question, might you wish for extra rain eventhought it will damage the farmers corn crop or it's the money stupid or this post has too many loose ends and yes some of these ends have no beginnings for sure a good example for ron-moon to display as an semi-incoherent dougak post :o) i agree no joke, i forget what i was going to post on something about money, power, greed, goodness or all the above
