Hi Dennis: Thanks for the info...my wife is glad to hear her memory
is holding up. Yesterday's paper said the IMAX 3D complex in Irvine
has become the most profitable yet...over a million visitors already.
Unfortunately, it's not CPX - they aren't too big down here, too much
competition, so maybe CPX doesn't want to spread itself too thin. The
Edwards chain that built the Irvine complex has announced plans to
build 3 more IMAX 3D complexes in Southern Calif. Disney is building
a second theme park in Anaheim next to the original one, so that'll
probably end up with a Rainforest, since that theme is right up their
alley. So I think those are two great holdings for this decade's
portfolio: RAIN and IMAX. The multiples are very high, though, so
any disappointing news could kill the stocks. For the long-term they
look like great growth stories. It took IMAX years to start making a
profit but now it looks like it's paying off. RAIN, on the other hand, has been profitable from the start. Happy 4th!
