I've posted this before. I was told several years ago, that Siemens fairly early on (I really don't know the time frame) tried to buy Qcom but couldn't make the deal, wanted to pay too little. Since then, it has seemed to try to go its own way without Qcom. So, it's latest pronouncements are completely in character.
