Jerome,
Thanks for your input, I really appreciate it. I am a long term holder of Intel which I have purchased and held from time to time over the years (seems pricey right now, but it is one of my core holdings and I have never sold). During last year's semi-equipment crash, I took the advice of Cary Salsberg on the Semi-Equipment 'Blood' thread and bought a stake in Lam Research, which I like. I also own shares of Atlas Air, a cargo transport company (just spiked up but still pretty good as they dominate some key Asia routes), and Vishay Intertechnology (again, recently spiked up) a company that makes capacitors, resistors, etc. My long shot is Xoma Corp, a biotech company search for a cure for sepsis and other killer infections.
I would love to find Medtronic at a reasonable price. Of course, just 8 months ago, it was, and I passed. Oh well....
Oh yeah. I am trying to decide between Electronic Data Systems and Computer Associates.
I tend to have a very long horizon (except for the Xoma thing -- one spike and I am gone.)
