The rumors before was that NOK would get around QCOM through IDCC. This NOK/Q deal ends that. Is there anything left of IDCC worth investing in?

Those rumors were silly, and hopefully too many people didn't buy into it.

Obviously, no one company owns all of the essential patent rights to W-CDMA. There are many contributors.

To those who expected IDCC to to be able to offer solutions that would bypass QCOM's IPR, I say it is time to wake up. The handwriting was on the wall, as QCOM had (prior to this NOK agreement) already licensed all of the major players except Siemens.

And yes, IDCC will receive a 1-3% royalty from manufacturers for their essential IPR in 3G. Look at the size of IDCC's market cap, compute the potential revenue.

Of course there is something worth investing in...
