Kenya to import oil from Sudan
Text of report by Kenyan KTN TV on 4 July

Kenya will soon start importing oil from Sudan.
Energy Minister Raila Odinga says companies which have been licensed to import crude oil could begin sourcing cheaper oil from Sudan. The Sudanese ambassador to Kenya, Faruq Ali, said a number of Kenyan companies had signed an agreement with his country and will soon begin importing oil.

[Odinga] Sudan as you know is now a major producer of oil - crude oil, and Kenya is a net importer of crude oil. This is one area where we can work together.

[Faruq] Those who are dealing with petrol sector now, they sign some agreement with the Sudanese and now they are importing some Sudanese oil and hopefully they are going to import more very soon.
