No. 1 PC maker Dell (NasdaqNM:DELL - news) has told employees to take five unpaid holidays of their choice this quarter

I wonder what that memo looked like. Something like, "today we have good news and bad news... first the good news... You will all receive 5 extra holiday days off this quarter... Now the bad news... You will no longer be paid for holidays...your loving managment at Dell"

No. 3 Hewlett-Packard Co.(NYSE:HWP - news) has asked employees voluntarily to take off eight days of their choice, or a 10 percent pay cut...

memo, "we are asking for some volunteers to take a 10% pay cut..."
