People have MANY children with MANY different problems. I have my own with very severe problems as well. If Jeffrey Dahmer was my child, I would weep with him, but I would also weep for him. I would do whatever I could to defend him when it was justified, however, I would not defend his right to live as he chose (or as "fate" or "circumstances" or "nature" or whatever you want to call it) had "made" him. Many things in this life are unsure and just "happen", but that does not erase universal moral law. Everyone, I'm sure, has a "legitimate" excuse for their behavior -- even the boys picking on Ivan may have been going home to a beating from their "abnormal" fathers? Just because someone has a "need" to do something does not mean then can or should be allowed to. This issue in particular is not "gay bashing." It is, just like the abortion issue, one which hurts many other innocent people who do have the right not to be hurt -- just like Ivan. Ivan should have been defended in spite of his "gayness", not because of it -- and just as abortion is killing millions of innocent lives, the gay lifestyle is destroying many lives, and at the top levels, it is trying to suck (no pun intended) in as many young, confused, and hurting new "members" as it can. It is wrong, plain and simple. Many times we focus on the "one" and lose sight of the "many", and in the USA, this will eventually lead to the destruction of the whole.
I remain,
