Ah. That is the source of my confusion.

Though the details of my point are now corrected by you, I still believe the essence of my point is valid in context of the number of GPRS subscribers you mentioned to Frank. Though adoption of GPRS might be prevalent some day, I don't think it has crossed the chasm. I believe it's premature to make any assumptions about it enjoying the incremental, sustained adoption Christensen asserts in defense of his statement that GPRS will have a longer life than manufacturers of competing products would have us believe. Similarly, because it hasn't crossed the chasm, I also don't put any stock in the manufacturers' assessment. In my opinion, it's simply too early to know the impact GPRS will have on adoption of 3G technologies.
