"I tell you a girl died from drinking too much water and again you have your doubts that that was the cause of death"

I merely expressed amazement that anyone could ingest that much water and hold it. Yes in the Chambers case she died from drinking too much water, but she would not have required it or been able to retain the water if she hadn't used Ecstasy. She died from hyponatremia which is the the inability to urinate and get rid of excess water. The excess water then causes a dilution of electrolytes in the body and a swelling of the brain. To quote from the article you sent....".Meyer blamed the death on the $25 tablet Chambers was given as a birthday present. Without the drug, I don't believe Miss Chamb" I'll bet this sentence finished with, "ers would have died." I didn't take the time to register and get the whole article but if you do a search on Brittany Chambers you will find a lot of coverage of it. So to reiterate, yes drinking too much water killed her, but using that reasoning you would be justified in saying that pneumonia killed an AIDS patient or that a person died from drinking too much sea water.... If you have a heart attack your heart stops but why did you have the heart attack, e.g. was it a blockage or congestive heart failure or some other cause.....in Chambers case it was the mechanism that caused the insatiable thirst and inability to get rid of the water that made me curious. And now I have learned something about Ecstasy and hyponatremia. And yes I am a skeptical and very curious person, I spent 37 years of my life as a scientist and engineer in an R&D field.
