I find the public reaction to the Yates case to be troubling as well. I understand and accept the fact she was suffering from severe PPD with psychotic features, but I don't think this should make her act sympathetic in any way. I found the editorial I posted on the topic to be very on the mark, very upsetting. And I agree that if it were a male who had systematically murdered his five young children, there would be a McVeigh-type call for his life. As a feminist, I don't think this is right.
