Chuck - RE: "This announcement tells me:

a) ASP are probably in the $70s instead of $80s like I estimated and/or flash tanked quite a bit"

AMD had ASPs like that when all they had was the K6-2 to sell. I've said it before, it blows me away that even with the Athlon they have such low ASPs. BUt you also gotta give Intel credit for droping the floor on P4 prices. That was a brilliant move on their part. As you have said many times, AMD doesn't have that killer instinct Intel has.

"The only good news here is unit shipments - Duron may be finally ramping up in sales"

I don't know because that might take away sales from this Q.

"How sh*tty can the management be if they fail to not preannounce a 17% decline in sales until this late when the guidance was "from flat to possibly down 10%"?"

Yeah, its unbelieveable. You'd think they would have learned by now how to warn properly, considering how many times they have warned in the past.

I wonder what new phrase Kumar will come up with to describe AMD. ;)
