The key is the "likelihood that the patient will do harm to self or others" clause. In your story, you had no need to know her whereabouts -- or even the existence of the professional relationship-- because it didn't fall within those limits.

A woman suffering from psychosis linked to PPD clearly has that risk in her life. I'm unsure as to whether her therapist is legally bound to tell the other parent, but I'd be surprised if it were legally out of bounds for him or her to do so.
