While I'm not so sure I liked the way the USSC reached its decision, it doesn't really seem like a states rights case to me, so this at least is not a "blaring inconsistency" in Bush's behavior.

Tim, when the FL Sup. Ct. did not rule in Bush's favor, he asked the US Sup. Ct. to intercede. When the FL Sup. Ct. again did not rule in Bush's favor, the Sup. Ct. interceded again. The US Sup. Ct's involvement was instigated by Bush and his cronies.

Most people took that to mean that Bush does not have a strong conviction in a state's ability to rule on its own matters.....or at least when the state is FL. Apparently, he only feels strongly about states' rights when he is a governor of one and not when he is running for president.
