I think another area you might consider studying - might suit your personality - is options trading. The options on the "big" stocks can trade a lot like the penny stocks you like so much - though the thing about options trading, and about trading the pennies, is that almost any vehicle that produces such high volatility on the upside is bound to produce it on the downside as well. A few bad moves against you can easily wipe out a whole series of huge initial gains, to a devstating effect if you're putting such large percentages of your total trading capital at risk on just a small group of positions over relatively extended periods of time. I wonder if you've had any near misses of that sort on the pennies. I also wonder why you're letting an underwater position just sit there...
