When did they do that? If they are claiming they sold more processors in Q2 than any time in the past, and the total number of processors sold in Q2 was less than Q1, then they gained market share. Now admittedly they likely gained most of that share in the under $1500 machines, but gained it they did. And this is despite the hardest pressure Intel could put on them without losing money hand over fist.


You're right...I inferred it from the size of the shortfalls in revenue and this quarter's EPS.

Having said that, I am not sure that gaining market share at the expense of ASPs and margins really changes anything and at best may be a hollow victory. It would appear that when AMD and Intel wage a war over money, AMD will be the ultimate loser.
