Re: Pit Bulls.

Ignoring puppy farms. Dogs are often bred for their personality as well as their looks. A good retriever breeder will select dogs based on a lot of factors that are related to personality. The desire to retrieve being an obvious one or even the dog's characteristic reaction to children.

Pit Bulls are not selectively bred for their kindness to children; they are selectively bred for their desire to tear flesh. It's fairly easy to train a dog one way based on their characteristics. Try to train a Pit Bull to be kind and cuddly to children is a major uphill battle. You have more hope of training jla to be polite.
