BSQR warns:

aolpf5.marketwatch.com

Bsquare sees lower 2nd-half revenue (BSQR) By Tomi Kilgore Bsquare (BSQR) said it expects to report second quarter financial results similar to those of the sequential first quarter, but warned that it anticipates a decline in revenue going forward due contract cancellations and renegotiations. For the most recent quarter, the software company expects earnings of 5 to 6 cents a share, on revenue of $18.1 million to $18.4 million, compared to consensus analyst expectations compiled by First Call/Thomson Financial of 6 cents and $18.7 million, respectively. Bsquare said a chip maker intends to terminate a contract that it had been expecting to yield $1.5 million in revenue in both the third and fourth quarters. Also, a customer has cancelled a contract to design a broadband wireless personal digital assistant that was expected to bring in $1.2 million to $1.4 million in revenue in the third and fourth quarters. In addition, Bsquare said it was negotiating its master agreement with Microsoft (MSFT) , which expired on June 30. "At this point, although we believe BSQUARE will still play an important role in supporting Microsoft, we anticipate that there will be a material reduction in revenue as a result of these negotiations," said Brian Turner, Bsquare's chief operating officer. The stock closed Thursday down 30 cents at $8.77.
