 Positive factors:

The global polyester industry has experienced significant growth over the last decade, primarily as a result of the substitution of polyester for other synthetic and natural materials, general economic growth (especially in certain parts of the developing world), technological advancements and new applications. World polyester production grew at an estimated compound annual rate of 11.4 % between 1993 and 1998. Polyester fiber is the most important synthetic fiber produced in the PRC representing approximately 80% of the total domestic consumption of synthetic fibers.

* China has raised export tax rebates on textile products from 14% to 17%, which should encourage more exports. Together with the projected growth in population and the expected improvement in the living standards in the PRC, the demand for polyester fiber should increase significantly.
* WTO: China's expected entry in the WTO towards the end of Year 2001, should result in a substantial lowering of existing Import Tariffs - currently set at 17% in the USA - and in the European Community.
* Because of its privileged relationship with the Longdi Group, AFBR has the ability to purchase Polyester feed stock at prices 5 to 10% below prevailing Market prices.
* Modern, state of the art production facilities and equipment serve well a cost effective, qualified and disciplined workforce.
