Monday Jun 16 1997 News Release:
Mr Greg Neeld reports the company has commenced stage 1 for its 1997 ground exploration program over its Tri-Reba and MO claims which the company has a 100% interest in 18,849 acres in the Betty Ray Lake region, approximately 150km northwest of Yellowknife, NWT, Canada.
The Tri-Reba group of claims are adjacent to the eastern border of the Fortune Minerals Nico claims where Fortune Minerals recently announced a 69.9 million tonne global drill indicated resource of gold, copper, cobalt, bismuth and tungsten oxide for a value of $95.62 per tonne and that they will resume drilling later this month to continue tracing the east strike extension of the Bowl zone where significant intersections of gold have been discovered.
Stage 1 of the company's ground exploration program is estimated to endure approximately 29 field days entailing camp mobilization, demobilization and field work. The program will include reconnaissance geological mapping (1:10,000 scale), extensive prospecting, rock sampling and assaying over the entire region of the company's properties with additional emphasis on the 12 significant anomalous areas identified by the company's airborne geophysical survey completed in late 1996.
Stage 2 of Hawkeye's ground exploration program is scheduled to begin in mid to late July 1997 and will focus upon a geophysical assessment of anomalies upgraded through stage 1 of the company's geological program. This work will include linecutting, detailed magnetometer surveys, induced polarization and if warranted gravity surveys. Stage 2 is expected to be completed some time in mid to late August 1997, at which time Hawkeye will be in a position to identify priority targets for its followup stage 3 drilling programs.
Announcements with regards to the commence date for stage 2 and results of the company's stage 1 geological mapping, prospecting, rock sampling and assaying program over its Tri-Reba and MO gold, copper, cobalt, bismuth and uranium properties will follow shortly. |
