To-day we saw major news from an alliance between Liberty Livewire and Interpublic Group. IPG owns McCann Erickson (who just happen to be one of the world's largest buyers of commercial advertising time on TV). This alliance will utilize ACTV's HyperTV to present the advertising. Ira Carlin CEO of McCann Erickson made several comments about the alliance. Highlighting his comments " Convergent TV as a MAJOR media choice "to arrive IN THE NEAR FUTURE"... "both research and actual usage data are telling us LOUD AND CLEAR"...."WE WANT TO BECOME VERY ACTIVE NOW". How much work do you think that the world's largest buyer of commercial advertising TV time will bring to HyperTV??? and to SpotOn??? The comments indicate that revenues will start now. So which MSO's will transmit these adverts to their subscribers (NOW)??? Good luck to all longs.
