Got a new cable modem installed today. It was a pain to get it to work...... AT&T Broadband gave us several pages of instructions...... which we followed to the letter....... got the notebook to work right off, but the desktop was DOA.

Soooooo, as usual, I spent half of the day putzing & rebooting & putzing & rebooting....... and calling AT&T Broadband tech support.......... turns out I did everything right...... they had to make some changes to allow their network to accept the new settings.

What a pain that was......... but man oh man!! This new cable modem smokes! RCA says this modem can handle 3 meg/sec. I already had a cable modem from AT&T (for a monthly fee), but they now let you buy your own & save $10/month on your bill. Not too shabby since the RCA modem only cost $99.

Look out folks! Bandwidth hog dead ahead :-
