I've never been to an NRA convention, nor even a dinner, meeting, or sponsored event. Nevertheless I am a life member, primarily because of my commitment to the basic freedom the NRA fights to protect.

From what I read in the American Rifleman, NRA conventions are hardly mutual back-patting affairs. They can be very hotly debated. We are all going the same direction, but we don't always see eye to eye.
